Fuel is supplied via 3/8" bundy tubing and the return line is 1/4" bundy tubing. I have used 2 pumps and a surge tank in my setup.

Low pressure piersberg pump supplies the surge tank with fuel and a VL Turbo pump supplies the engine with fuel.

Bending the tubing yourself isn't as bad as people make out. Just be careful not to kink the lines! I used a small piece of pipe to bend the bundy tubing. I found that the pipe benders ended up putting kinks in the lines. Anyways my advice is to gently roll the tubing around a small pipe (1.5 ot 2" pipe) and you'll avoid getting any kinks. Just take your time as it is very easy to put a kink in your tubing.

The surge tank holds 1L of fuel and has 4 outlets (as in the diagram above).

Surge tank setup top to bottom.

  1. Top line overflows back to the fuel tank (3/8" fitting).
  2. Piersberg hi-lo pump supplies fuel to the surge tank via 2nd from top inlet (3/8" fitting), also i've added a fuel filter between pump and fuel tank.
  3. Return line from the fuel rail feeds into the 3rd from top inlet (3/8" fitting).
  4. VL Turbo pump picks up fuel from surge tank to supply engine (1/2" fitting from surge tank).
  5. Another Fuel filter has been added just before the fuel rail.

The pumps and surge tank have been fitted in the boot (see pic below).
